Clariter Secures Polish Government Grant to Build Plastic Waste Upcycling Facility in Konin
Warsaw, Poland, June 25, 2026 – Clariter SPV PL Sp. z o.o., a subsidiary of Clariter S.A., a global cleantech pioneer, today announced the signing of a public aid agreement with the Polish Ministry of Finance and Economy under the Programme for Supporting Investments of Major Importance to the Polish Economy 2011–2030. The agreement unlocks a grant of up to PLN 58.6 million to support the establishment of Clariter’s first commercial-scale resource recovery facility in Konin, Wielkopolska Province, Poland.
The Konin facility will process 25,000 tonnes of post-consumer plastic waste annually, producing 20,000 tonnes of high-value Clariter products – solvents, oils, and waxes – as sustainable alternatives to fossil fuel-based petrochemicals. The investment is scheduled for completion by the end of 2029 and will create at least 90 new direct jobs in the region.
The facility will leverage Clariter’s proprietary three-stage upcycling technology: thermal processing of raw plastic waste feedstock, purification and modification of products using hydrogen, and separation into distinct product fractions.
The grant, disbursed in tranches between 2027 and 2030, is tied to qualifying investment expenditures of at least PLN 560 million and is classified as regional state aid under EU Commission Regulation 651/2014. The investment is recognized by the Polish government as strategically significant, operating in the secondary raw material recovery sector and located in a socially and economically disadvantaged area.
